Honor Pad V8 Pro Launched: 12 inch Tablet With 144 Hz Refresh Rate, IMAX Enhanced
Honor, the former Huawei spinoff that separated from the company two years ago held an event today, where they unveiled a bunch of new products. They had a gaming phone, Honor 80 GT, plus a tablet dubbed Honor Pad V8 Pro, which could be easily seen as a gaming tablet, especially if you look at its specs. Which is what we’re doing below.
Honor Pad V8 Pro has a 12.1 inch 2.5K LCD display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and also a surprising IMAX Certification. Inside it we find one of the most powerful midrange CPUs on the market, MediaTek Dimensity 8100. It’s accompanied by 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. I’m also rather impressed by the 10.050 mAh battery, which charges at 35W. Also, much like Huawei’s top end slates, this device proposes 8 speakers.
Everything is stuffed into a 6.64 mm thick body and we also get productivity features, like support for the Magic Pencil 3, which offers 4096 levels of pressure and 2 ms input lag. The pen offers 10 hours of functioning time. It also plays nicely with a Smart Touch keyboard with 1.6 mm travel. Honor Pad V8 Pro runs on Android 12 with MagicOS 7 on top.
Camera-wise, we get a 13 MP back unit with 4K capture and at the front there’s a 5 MP shooter. The product weighs 589 grams and also has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Available in Orange (faux lather), sunny blue and starry blue, the device starts at $373 for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage version and goes to $473 for the best specced model.
