OnePlus 10T rumours: Everything we know so far

(Pocket-lint) – OnePlus has already announced a number of phones this year, but there is at least one more to come. The next device from the company will come in the form of the OnePlus 10T and it is arriving pretty soon.

Here is everything we have heard so far about the next OnePlus flagship phone – the OnePlus 10T.

Release date and price

  • Launch event on August 3 2022
  • On sale early August
  • From £799 in the UK

It was initially rumoured that we’d see the OnePlus 10T announced in July, however, we now know that the launch event will be taking place on August 3 and you can check how to watch it here. It has been suggested that the device will go on sale in early August.

As for price, it looks like the OnePlus 10T could start at £799 in the UK, which is the same price as the OnePlus 10 Pro starts at. A listing for the device appeared on the Amazon UK site in early July before being removed.

The price seems odd though because OnePlus itself has made it clear the Pro will be remain the model to choose if you want the best camera experience, suggesting it will be more expensive. We suppose they could sit at the same price though so it’s possible it’s correct.

OnePlus 10T design and display

  • Similar to OnePlus 10 Pro
  • Two colours
  • 6.7-inch AMOLED, Full HD+, 120Hz

OnePlus itself has shown off the OnePlus 10T’s design in a forum post, so we know exactly what the device will look like ahead of its launch.

Let’s start with the lack of alert slider – a feature that has been present on OnePlus flagship phones since their beginning. OnePlus said the OnePlus 10T won’t have the signature feature in order to make room for a larger motherboard inside.

Elsewhere, the OnePlus 10T will come in two colours: Moonstone Black and Jade Green. It will also have a large camera unit – but no Hasselblad branding – and it will feature curved glass around the edges to give it that seamless ramping up effect.

When in comes to the front, the OnePlus 10T will come with a flat display and a centralised punch hole camera at the top.

The display is claimed to be 6.7-inches and it is said to be an AMOLED panel with a Full HD+ (2412 x 1080) resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also said to offer HDR10+ and 10-bit colour support. As mentioned, it is flat rather than curved like the OnePlus 10 Pro.

OnePlus 10T specs and battery

  • Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
  • 8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage
  • 4800mAh, 150W

According to several reports, the OnePlus 10T will run on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, though there were rumours of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 originally.

There have also been leaks to suggest different models with one featuring 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage, and the other offering 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, which wouldn’t come as a huge surprise. There have also been rumours of a 16GB RAM model.

In terms of battery, it’s claimed the OnePlus 10T will feature a 4800mAh capacity with 150W fast charging. If true, that would mean the OnePlus 10T delivers faster charging than the OnePlus 10 Pro. It’s been said the device might not offer wireless charging though.

OnePlus 10T camera

  • Triple rear camera
  • 50MP main sensor
  • 32MP or 16MP front camera

It’s been confirmed that the OnePlus 10T will have a triple rear camera with a Sony IMX766 50-megapixel main sensor, and rumours claim it will be joined by an 8-megapixel ultrawide and a 2-megapixel camera.

The 50-megapixel main sensor features electronic image stabilisation and it’s the only camera that has been announced in detail, so far. The brand also confirmed a 119.9-degree field of view ultra-wide and a macro camera but hasn’t revealed the resolutions or specs of the auxiliary cameras.

If the trio is accurate though, it would mean the 10T is sporting virtually the same camera system as the OnePlus Nord 2T

On the front, it’s been claimed the OnePlus 10T will either offer a 32-megapixel snapper or a 16-megapixel camera, with the latter being suggested more than once.

Video capabilities are said to be up to 4K at 60fps from the rear camera and up to 1080p at 30fps from the front.
