Onyx BOOX Launches 4 New e-Readers, E Ink Tablets Too, With Small screens

Onyx is a brand that despite being smaller, it has managed to compete with the likes of Kobo, Amazon and more in order to launch eReaders. Last week it debuted four new E Ink readers on the Chinese market and some of them are basically E Ink tablets.

We’re talking about the Onyx BOOX Leaf2, which is a slim and light eReader with a 7 inch screen. Then we have the Onyx BOOX Nova 5, a 7.8 inch model with pen input. Then comes the Onyx BOOX NoteX2 and the Onyx BOOX Tab 10, which are 10.3 inch tablets with E Ink screens. Starting off with the Leaf 2, it comes with an E Ink Carta 1200 panel, a 2 GHz Qualcomm processor, 2 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot. It also has dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and stereo speakers. The price is $220.

Then we have the Nova 5, with a 6.8 inch screen with a 1872 x 1404 pixel resolution, touch and pen input and a 2 GHz octa core Qualcomm CPU. This one has 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, dual band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. Stereo speakers are also here and a 2000 mAh battery, like the model above. It weighs 240 grams. The price is $300.

The Note X2 and the Tab 10 share a 10.3 inch screen with a 1872 x 1404 pixel resolution, also touch and pen input. The second model has a magnetic pen with eraser. Both have Qualcomm octa core CPUs and 4 GB RAM, plus 64 or 128 GB of storage, respectively. They run on Android 12, have stereo speakers and the Tab 10 provides a fingerprint reader and a larger 6300 mAh battery. It weighs 470 grams and costs $500.

Meanwhile, the Note X2 is priced at $370.
