Oukitel RT1 Rugged Tablet Debuts With IP Ratings, 10.000 mAh Battery
For a while there it seemed that rugged tablets weren’t doing so fine, as people were spending less time outdoors, on account of the pandemic. Now they’re coming back in full force, needed by the likes of fores rangers, oil people, carpenters and other tough jobs. Starting today they have a new choice: the robust Oukitel RT1 tablet, detailed below.
Oukitel is better known for its rugged smartphones and entry level devices, rather than slates. Now they have entered the tablet market with their very first model, the RT1. We’re dealing with a 10.1 inch slate, with Android 11 on board in a stock version. The device uses a hardened plastic shell, that has two IP certifications: IP68 and IP69K. It’s both dust and water proof, plus drop proof up to 1.5 meters.
The product’s IPS LCD display offers a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, together with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, plus microSD. One of the selling points could easily be the 10.000 mAh battery on board, which charges at 18W via USB-C. There’s also a 16 MP front camera here and another 16 MP shooter at the back. Dual 4G SIM slots are also in the mix.
Oukitel RT1 is available in black or orange and retails for $200 after a few coupons. It can be ordered on the company’s website.
