Samsung Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro Rugged Tablet Prepped for Launch
Samsung is covering a few niches in a pretty smart manner and it’s the only big company that makes rugged tablets. Their latest model is the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro, which has leaked a bunch of times and today gets one more confirmation about its release.
The device was recently certified by a few authorities, including Bluetooth SIG and it turned up in the Google Play Console, pointing at an approaching launch. We have a few specs leaked so far, including a screen with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and 16:10 aspect. We don’t know the diagonal, but I’d be willing to speculate it’s closer to 8 inches rather than 11 inches. Inside it we should find an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, based on 6 nm tech and sporting an Adreno 642L GPU.
It’ll have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage minimum, plus it should offer 4G and probably even 5G connectivity. We expect a cheaper Wi-Fi version as well, plus Bluetooth 5.2 support. Samsung Galaxy Tab Activ4 Pro will run on Android 12L from the factory. Android 12L is a software platform optimized for larger screens. If you consider these specs to be underwhelming, don’t forget that this is a rugged device, one that has an IP68 certification, for water and dust proofing.
It should also be military certified in the MIL-STD-810G standard, which means it can take humidity, rain, vibrations, solar radiation, thermal shock, bumps, falls.
