HANNspree Lumo Tablet Debuts, With Colour-Paper Like Screen

Yet another colour-paper like screen tablet is out, courtesy of HANNspree. The newcomer is dubbed HANNspree Lumo and it’s an Android tablet, that’s supposed to make crystal clear videocalls.

The screen is designed to deliver a paper-like viewing experience, sans compromises. Instead of positioning the Lumo as a monochrome e-reader alternative, HANNspree is promoting it as a full fledged Android tablet, focused on eye confort. We’ve got a small screen, here, a 7.8 incher, that shows 16.7 million colors. It also provides a 60 Hz refresh rate and a response time of 5 ms.

Scrolling feels natural and videos are perfectly watchable. Casual games and video calls are also part of the experience, something regular E-Ink tablets fail to provide. There’s something called “ecoVISION” here, a technology that protects the eyes from glare. The result is a flicker free, anti glare, blue light free viewing experience, that will reduce eye strain during longer sessions.

The device is menat for educators, students, children and people with visual sensitivity. The device has a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB eMMC storage, a 5 MP front camera and 8 Mp back camera. It weighs 250 grams and has a 3000 mAh battery. It’s sold at 299 euros.
