Honor MagicPad 13 Tablet Unveiled: 8 Speakers, 13 Inch 144 Hz Screen

Honor held yet another event yesterday, where it unveiled the foldable phone Honor Magic V2, but they also showcased a high midrange tablet, the MagicPad 13. It comes in Sky Blue, Star Gray and Moonlight, which is basically beige.

There’s a 13 inch screen on board with a 2880 x 1840 pixel resolution, an IPS LCD panel with a variable refresh rate. It switches between 30 Hz, 48 Hz, 60 Hz, 60 Hz and even 90 and 120 Hz. The top refresh rate though is 144 Hz. Touch sampling rate for gamers reaches up to 240 Hz. We’re dealing with quite the solid screen, that’s HDR10 ready and also delivers 1.07 billion colors, also covering the DCI-P3 color gamut.

This panel has a color accuracy of below Delta E<1 and a 700 nit peak brightness. It’s even IMAX enhanced apparently. As far as the audio is concerned, there are 8 speakers on board and 4 microphones. Apparently, according to Honor, this is the first 3D spatial audio setup that doesn’t need headphones. Honor also offers a Magic Pencil 3 here, one specifically tailor for the new MagicPad 13.

It comes with a skin friendly coating and a matte texture, 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and a latency of 2 ms. With the aid of the Honor Magic Pencil on the MagicPad 13, users will be able to highlight objects and text and copy and cut and paste them across apps. Specs include a Snapdragon 888 CPU, 8, 12 or 16 GB of RAM and also an USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port.

Camera wise get a 13 MP autofocus unit at the back and a 9 MP selfie shooter. The battery is a 10.050 mAh unit with 66W charging. Price starts at $420.
