Redmi Pad 2 is Actually Called Redmi Pad SE; Budget Tablet Coming Soon

The Redmi Pad 2 tablet has been leaked multiple times over the past few months, but today we learn that it’s going to appear under a different name: Redmi Pad SE. This is a budget tablet, which has some specs revealed below.

Turns out that the specs of the Redmi Pad SE are somehow downgraded from the original Redmi Pad, which is why it’s not called Pad 2. There are renders published online by Kimovil, together with some specs. The Redmi Pad SE appeared in the MIUI codebase with the codename “Xun”. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, together with LPDDR4x RAM.

It has a 10.x inch screen, a LCD panel with a 2K resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. There are quad speakers here with Dolby Atmos, an 8 megapixel rear camera and another 8 MP camera upfront. The device runs on Android 13 and MIUI 14 and packs an 8000 mAh battery with 22.5W charging.

It’s kind of odd to see the MediaTek Helio G99 of the Redmi Pad replaced with a Snapdragon 680 since tests show a 25% performance decrease. The camera module has a design inspired by the Xiaomi CIVI 2 phone. Xiaomi should announce the device with 4 or 6 GB RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage.

A global model will also be available.
