HMD Scarecrow Tablet Channels Nokia Lumia Design, Has Solid Midrange Specs

HMD has gone “full Lumia” these days, after bringing back the famous Nokia Lumia design for the HMD Skyline phone and now they’re also bringing it to tablets. Not an entry level model like the T21, but rather a new midranger, codenamed Scarecrow.

The new tablet from HMD Global is said to adopt the design of the Nokia Lumia 925 and also pack a rather solid CPU, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, as well as a 10.6 inch IPS panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate. I expect quite a jump in price from the affordable Nokia T21, which was priced at 165 euros. HMD Scarecrow was also previously leaked under the moniker HMD Slate Tab 5G, but the specs have changed a bit.

The casing is shown in green, aside from orange and we get a 13 megapixel main camera with F/1.8 aperture, a 5 MP ultrawide camera and a LED flash. There are 6 metallic pins at the back, which should let you connect a keyboard case. Upfront we find a 10.6 inch IPS panel with 2K resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. We also get an 8 megapixel selfie camera cut in the screen frame, to make it discrete.

By the way, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. The 9200 mAh battery can be charged via USB-C at up to 30 watts. The tablet also has a 5G modem, a 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC.
