Huawei MatePad Pro 11″ 2024 Model Unveiled: First Tablet With Satellite Connectivity

Huawei unveiled over the past week the MatePad Pro 11″ 2024 tablet model, the world’s first tablet with satellite connectivity. The official listing on the Huawei website reveals that the slate has been integrated with the China Beidou satellite system.

It should be available starting November 28th and we’re dealing with an 11 inch model. Its core feature is the ability to send messages and share location of users in areas where there’s no network coverage. Huawei’s implementation of a satellite system involves high orbit satellites positioned up to 36.000 kilometers in height.

Huawei achieves this without needing extra antennae. Instead it relies on complex technologies, like high-gain algorithms and innovative communication protocols, that optimize the tablet’s communication experience. Huawei also had success with challenges related to power usage and signal loss.

As far as specs are concerned, we don’t have many for this device, but we do know it’s coming with an OLED 11 inch screen, with 120 Hz refresh rate, plus a Huawei Kirin 5G processor and a 9000 mAh battery with fast charge. There should also be 8 GB of RAM on board, quad speakers, maybe even stylus support. An attachable keyboard should also make the cut.
